About This Quote

I’m not sure I understand the author’s point in this quote. Perhaps he was trying to say that women want too many things and they’re superficial in their interest? Or perhaps he was trying to say that if a woman wanted only three things, she would realize how shallow her life would be? It can take a lot of mental energy to make sense of the world and if the focus is always on chasing after things without ever getting them, then there is little point in even living. Perhaps wearing pantyhose and having a career and children and friends and luxury and comfort and independence and respect and love are all equally trivial?
